Best Kept Secret: Cafes in Museums

There are a countless number of museums in New York City. But, what some people may not know is that some of the best hidden restaurants in New York are part of museums. The Whitney, the MOMA, and the Neue Gallerie hold some of my favorite cafes and reasturants in the areas. The Modern at MOMA is my go-to place whenever I’m in midtown. It’s sleek décor and refined dishes make it stand out from many of the restaurants in the area. I recently went to the MOMA for the “Is Fashion Modern?” exhibit and stopped by for lunch at The Modern afterwards. I highly recommend going to the exhibit because it will make you question what fashion is and how...

Holidays in New York

As the holidays role around it seems that New Yorkers get more tense and anxious than usual. What restaurants do I take my in-laws to? Where can I go that will not be packed with tourists, yet will be fun for my whole family? Trust me, I get. The holidays are the best yet most stressful time of the year, but hopefully I can help ease that anxiety. My go to spot when with a large group of people over the holidays is Central Park. After the first snowfall, it becomes a beautiful nature hub in midst of the bustling city. Everyone loves ice-skating, and instead of going to the Rockefeller skating rink, I head to Wolman Rink in Central Park. It...

Traveling With Friends

It is said that a journey is measured in friends, rather than miles. However, I am lucky enough to travel with my friends and experience new cultures and landmarks with them by my side. Being in Paris for fashion week is always thrilling and it was even more fun with my friends there. I went to an array of different restaurants, museums, and shows (I’ve actually seen more beautiful clothes in the past week than I have in the past year). New York is said it be the fashion capital of the world, yet the fashion in Paris is mesmerizing. The landscape of each of the shows heightens the beauty of the clothes. However, the Chanel show was unlike any...

Clothing Travel essentials

I travel a lot during the year. Whether it’s Moscow, Japan or anything in between, I have a few essential clothing pieces that I take with me regardless of the season or place. 1) A pair of skinny or boyfriend jeans (depending on the season). During the summer I like to wear a pair of loose jeans because they can be dressed up or down depending on which shoes you pair them with. Skinny jeans, however, are best worn with boots or oxford shoes, so they are my go to style during the colder months. I prefer Seven Jeans, and AG jeans to any other brand because of their flattering yet non-traditional-cut jeans. 2) Statement sunglasses are next on my list. I...

Hamptons Hotels

As much as I love New York it can get unbearable during the summer. On weekends, especially, an escape from the city is a perfect cure to those hot humid days. New Yorkers and foreigners alike prefer the Hamptons to any other place for a weekend getaway. Its beaches are beautiful and the towns are filled with restaurants and boutiques that often mimic the streets of Manhattan. If you’re like me and only spend a few weekends out of the summer in the Hamptons I would recommend staying in a hotel overlooking the water. My top three picks are: Gurney’s Montauk Resort and Seawater Spa in Montauk, Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton, and lastly, The Surf Lodge in Montauk. All three...

Spring Outfit for the Winter Days

Fashion week winter edition is a time of colorful fur and vibrant leather pants.  However, what most fashion bloggers and fashion connoisseurs did not predict was several inches of snow that quickly turned to brown slush. Before the weather turned from a winter wonderland to black frozen streets I was planning to wear my new spring-inspired Channel outfit. I paired my wide-legged light wash jeans with patent leather red pumps and my new graphic Chanel tee-shirt. Although I was hoping for warm weather I was realistic with my outerwear and paired it with a grandpa printed sweater. The pink, olive, and brown pattern of the cardigan highlighted the details of the shirt while bringing a winter flare to an otherwise spring...

Simplicity is Key

Clean, simple, crisp. These three words are my mantra in everything I love: art, fashion, and food. Although trends can be fleeting a wide leg trouser and a fitted sweater will never go out of style. This week I decided to pair my Loro Piana flare jeans with my red, white and blue patterned Chanel sweater. Although days after the election I am not feeling very patriotic it is important to remember that even through the hardest of times pride for your country is crucial, therefore showing it in the tiniest ways (such as wearing a red, white, and blue sweater) can make someone standing next to you smile. To heighten the effect of my wide leg jeans I wore light brown...

Chanel

“In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different” –Coco Chanel Because of the fast pace, ever-changing world we live in it may feel like we are not making a mark. However, one way to be noticed in the busy streets of New York is to pair two articles of clothing that others would not have thought to have worn together. Black lace stockings are something that I wore growing up in Russia and it is an element in my closet that I still like to incorporate in my daily dressing. This season, Chanel re-designed the classic lace stockings by creating the Dentelle Lace Stocking: an intricate design of sheer and simple pattern on the top of the tights, and a...

LA

Although LA is the city of angels it can be just as fun if you’re a little bit of a sinner. With the hottest nightclubs, restaurants, and shows in California, Los Angeles should be your first stop when traveling the west coast! Because LA is fairly spread out I would recommend renting a car when getting there. The weather is always perfect so a sporty convertible would be the way to go. One of the days I was walking around and I stopped in a store and started talking to a salesperson. I told her how excited I was that the weather has been perfect all week, and she looked at me strangely. She exclaimed, “Oh no… It has been...

High and Low

High and Low Mixing designer pieces with brands such as Zara and Gap is one of my favorite things to do. Although I stand by the fact that there is no such thing as too many Chanel bags, I love a good bargin. Zara is one of my favorite stores because it provides chic European pieces without breaking the bank. Their newest collection is a pristine mix of bohemian, classic, and edgy looks brought together by quality materials such as silk and vegan leather. One of my favorite Zara purchases is this black embroidered skirt that I paired with my classic white Margiela sneakers and a quilted Chanel bag. The delicate flower embroidery stands out beautifully on the heavy black material, and...
