Runway pieces and ready-to wear collections can often represent different sides of the same designer. However, one of my favorite new designers, Kristian Aadnevik bring their London aesthetic and Norwegian workmanship to show in both their couture and every day pieces. For my birthday celebration in April I wore one of their latest designs and I felt like a modern day princess. The dress was crimson velvet, with gold mesh underlay and detailing. It cinched at the waist and perfectly hugged my curves while still being extremely slimming. The gold rope belt highlighted the details of the dress, while not taking anything away from the initial design. I got numerous compliments on it, and felt great through out the night. Kristian Aadnevik’s newest collection blends raw natural details with whimsical patterns. The designer powerhouse have been known to say that their newest collection, “Forms part of a journey, where the soft colours and life of summer falls and a soulful darkness uncovers a more raw wild beauty”.
Kristian Aadnevik debuted their first collection in 2004 and have turned heads since. The power couple’s integration of different materials and styles make them stand out from other designers that stick to the trend rather than their stylistic intuition. Most recently, Kendal Jenner wore their sultry black gown to the MTV Movie Awards. This further established their fashion empire, and made them known not only to fashion stars and starlets in Europe but also in America!
The fashion headlights are currently shinning in their direction, and I can’t wait to see their next collection.
