Dear Readers,
The capital of France, heart of art, fashion (haute couture), gastronomy (haute cuisine) and culture has been busy in the first week of July 2018 (1st-5th). I just got back from the amazing, well-known and desirable haute-couture event that is regularly held in Paris. Fashion Week showed the collections of the most famous, new and respected fashion houses – Chanel, Christian Dior, Valentino, Givenchy, Fendi Couture, Jean Paul Gaultier, Georges Hobeika, UlyanaSergeenko, Alexis Mabille, Maison Margiella, Frank Sorbier, and dozens of others.
Despite the fact that this fashion week in Paris: Haute Couture was an intermediate one it was a great event not only of the fashion industry. In addition it was an important social happening of the city, numerous parties, presentations, galas that gather the most stylish people of the fashion, show, business, music and cinema industries.
The most famous and Final Fashion week is traditionally held in Paris once in half a year(March/September) since 1973. It is organized with the support of the French Federation of High Fashion and pret-a-porter. The venue is the Louvre Carousel, the exhibition and trading space under the TuileriesGarden. Paris has a recognized private status of the capital of the worlds’ fashion industry! So every week of fashion, every pret-a-porter show here turns into a large-scale holiday. Fashion Week in Paris is more positioned as an art than an object for sale. Traditionally, any show is a real show with a well thought out plot and direction.
This week was rich in colors, unusual textures, new and vivid designer’s creations and splendid performances. J’adore Paris! This show literally took place indoor and outdoor (on the streets) and represented main fashion Fall/Winter 2018/19 trends. There are some of them: animal print is back, modesty dressing, glossy materials and textures, headwear of unusual forms and/or decorated, tweed coats/dresses, checks, luxury fringing, cowboy boots, leather the most dominant material, hoods to cover the head.
With this tips you can already start getting ready for the Fall/Winter 2018. In case you have chance, I would recommend you to go and “one time to see than 100 times to hear”. Otherwise, with the gratitude to technology you can also witness it online. Next upcoming Fashion Week in Paris (09/24/18-10/02/18). Calendar of the event can be found under this link: https://fhcm.paris/en/. Keep smiling, keep dreaming, stay in trend and be happy!
