High and Low
Mixing designer pieces with brands such as Zara and Gap is one of my favorite things to do. Although I stand by the fact that there is no such thing as too many Chanel bags, I love a good bargin. Zara is one of my favorite stores because it provides chic European pieces without breaking the bank. Their newest collection is a pristine mix of bohemian, classic, and edgy looks brought together by quality materials such as silk and vegan leather.
One of my favorite Zara purchases is this black embroidered skirt that I paired with my classic white Margiela sneakers and a quilted Chanel bag. The delicate flower embroidery stands out beautifully on the heavy black material, and makes an otherwise feminine cut more contemporary. By pairing it with a pair of sneakers I was able to make the look sportier. Yet, the elongated shape of my sneakers as well as the mesh under layer design provided me with the perfect transitional look from day to night. I was running errands the entire day in this outfit and then met my girlfriends at a rooftop bar downtown. This outfit turned heads from the bustling streets of the Upper East Side to the quite lounges of Tribeca.
All in all, mixing is always a good thing! I love to mix prints, mix colors, but always remember not mix your alcohols 😉
