Summer time in New York , kids off from school. Time to travel to Europe and catch up a quality time and friends and family. But before a lot of things we need to finish on the list .
So many dinners we need to make and events to attend. Thats why I love New York there are always new places to visit and new restaurants to try. In New York most of the people wearing black as we always can end up in different events and discover new places, this season it was a New Hotel Edition a hot spot to be)
After Miami Beach the New Edition Hotel opened in New York this April. . Located in the heart of New York City’s Flatiron District, steps from Madison Square Park, the hotel seamlessly blends the integrity and character of a prestigious landmark building with a simple, sophisticated design sensibility. Originally built in 1909 as the headquarters for The Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, the historic 41-story clock tower offers jaw-dropping 360-degree views of Manhattan and is an iconic landmark against the city skyline.
The Clocktower Restaurant is the place everyone wants to discover… at the Edition Hotel
The Clocktower, so named because of the building the Edition occupies, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Since the Clocktower is a landmarked building, the restaurant is actually split into three different rooms, each with views over Madison Square Park. These rooms were originally the offices for the executives of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, and many original details remain such as a grand fireplace, mahogany wainscoting and doorways, ornate ceilings and even the engraved doorknobs, which were fully restored.
The Billiards Room at the Edition Hotel
In this gem of a room stands a billiards table with peppy purple felt that matches the purple chandelier hanging above it. The chandelier is another original accent from the building, although Edition’s design team (spearheaded by Ian Schrager and David Rockwell) had some fun with the purple shading of it. The room itself is small with a long window seat for fans, but walking around the table when someone is playing pool could get tricky.
The Gold Bar at the Edition Hotel
Off to the side of The Billiards Room is The Gold Bar, which as its name explains, is anchored by a 24-carat gold-leaf bar. Another strong spherical chandelier hangs above. And yes, more ornately framed photos can be found along the walls.
Had a few friends who stayed at the hotel and they were happy with rooms and service.
