French Riviera: Monaco & Monte Carlo

French Riviera: Monaco & Monte Carlo
Good day, Dear Readers,

After the great performance in Moscow, France is celebrating the Victory of the FIFA World Cup 2018and happiness is felt even in Monte Carlo, where I am at this moment. Monaco as a small country-city situated in the South of Europe consists of the 10 regions, including Monte Carlo and borders with France as well as shares the same national language. The actual name of this area is accurately called“Mount Charles” and is located along the French Riviera at the base of Maritime Alps. It is usually associated with Monaco and officially it is an administrative region of the Principality of Monaco particularly the ward part where all the known casinos are located – Monte Carlo/Spélugues.

Among them having the same name – Monte Carlo Casino was opened in 1865 and is recognized to be oneof the most famous in the world. It consists of three buildings, where casino, hotel, restaurant and the Monte Carlo Opera can be found. An amazing fact about the Opera that it was build in just six months and opened its doors in 1879 to the public. In 1911 Sergey Diaghilev has founded here the famous Russian Balletand placed his main troupe. At this stage at various times the performance of Václav Nijinsky, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Anna Pavlova, Rudolf Nuriyev, George Balanchine took place. As well as Feodor Chaliapin, Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti and Nelly Melba sang here. An interesting fact about the Monte Carlo Hotel is that the visitors usually come by great range ofamazing cars from rarity to sports. So the plaza in front of the hotel has become informal rare car museum.

However, my beloved place to stay in Monte Carlo is Hôtel Hermitage – that is the part of the Leading Hotels of the World and is a simple choice for lovers of comfort. Pronounced Hermitaaaaage by the French itwas built in the early 1900s and is one of the two best luxury hotels in Monte Carlo. It is just in 5 minutes walk distance from Monte Carlo Casino and 1.55 miles from the Larvotto Beach. This graceful hotel faces the Mediterranean Sea and is well-known for its GustaveEiffel-designed dome. I love its classy Belle Epoque-style rooms that have city, courtyard or sea-view balconies/terrace and come with all modern amenities. For the long stay I would recommend to enjoy thelavish suite with separate living area with the whirlpool tub. In addition, there is a chic wine bar, 2 upscale restaurants with dining terraces, as well as a guest you will receive complimentary access to a connected spa with an indoor pool, a hot tub and fitness center. Being a loyal customer, I truly enjoy the ambience, the views, the architecture, the room design and amenities, the service, and the people. I highly recommend you to stay here when planning where to live in Monte Carlo.

As to eating out there are multiple proposals of mainly haute cuisine restaurants. In addition, I would recommend trying Saas Café in Monaco. I believe that the voyage to Monaco will not be completed without experiencing this vivacious and effervescent place. It is only 1.5 miles, which is like 7 minutes ride from the Hotel Hermitage. Everything is very close here since the area is small. It is located in the center of Monaco and is well-known and #1 must to visit place. SaasCafé is great for dinner, fun, wine and live music dance. You can meet all kind of people here, including billionaires, celebrities and influencers that come here for a good food and time. It is open till late and you can have a pre-drink and very tasty roast chicken before hitting the nightclub or just stay here until the morning. It is like the famous spot in Monaco for people from all around the world and I highly recommend you to experience this vibrant atmosphere!
